Knitting by Niki for Younger Cousins

I made some headbands for my little cousins ages four and three. Knitting flowers is really simple. Begin by casting on four or five stiches, depending on how big you want each petal. Knit a couple of rows and then cast off one. Knit one row and cast off one again. Repeat this step until you have completely cast off. Then start over until you have the number of petals you desire for your flower.

Knitting gifts does take time, but it is very inexpensive. You can make great presents for friends and family that are reflective of their personality. You can add knitted flowers or sew on buttons to accessorize the scarf or headband.
